St Robert's Roman Catholic First School

St Roberts First School is a small school in central Morpeth with very limited space, the space the school does have is often shared with the church and usually turns into a car park at the weekend, because of this there was very little equipment in the playground – none of which offered any sort of physical challenge. For this reason St Roberts approached Playforce to discuss utilising their space in the best possible way, whilst still ensuring the playground was a usable space for everyone and physical play was developed.
To combat the issues highlighted Playforce helped create a really interesting climbing/traverse wall for the school, this has been a great success for many reasons. The fact that it doesn’t steel any space from the playground was a huge bonus, not to mention the endless opportunity for physical development too – particularly upper body and core strength! Two trim trails were also installed – both offering varying levels of challenge, the trim trails were the prefect addition to the schools playfield as they are linear in configuration means they left ample space for football and rugby games!

The installation team were excellent. David Sutcliffe, Headteacher
David Sutcliffe the head at St Roberts decided to use Playforce for his installation as he really felt we’d heard his predicament and that we were committed to providing the right solution to the school at the right price.

‘‘Just wanted to drop you an email to say that the installation team who have been at school this week have been excellent. The weather conditions were horrific!! Torrential rain from the minute they turned up on site to the minute they left! The gents were so respectful of school - they all removed their shoes at the door when entering school as not to dirty our floors.

The guy in charge communicated effectively with myself to ensure everything was positioned correctly. He mentioned that some of the climbing grips were a different colour and someone would be back to replace them and add a piece to the 4 way shooter. The only issue was that they were Leeds United supporters!!! We didn’t hold this against them!’’ David Sutcliffe, Headteacher
