Parley First School, Dorset

Parley First School in Dorset required a new play area for physical activity. Working with their local Outdoor Grounds Consultant an Active Trail Low Level 15, Woodland Climber - Large and several other pieces were installed. Mr John Bagwell, Headteacher at Parley First Schools tells us more.

Why did you want to develop your playground?
The old equipment was tired and not fit for purpose. We had the opportunity to provide something that was high quality and would last.

What were the key elements that made Playforce stand out from other providers?
I had used Playforce before in another school and I knew what the quality and longevity was like.

What are the biggest benefits you have seen for the children?
The space is used on a daily basis for mainstream and children with complex educational needs. We have seen them grow in confidence using the equipment and testing their physical abilities from reception to Year 4.

Can you share any best practice insights you have gained?
It is important to ensure that the surfacing is correct below the equipment especially linked to larger apparatus.

Any other comments about your experience of working with Playforce?
I have always been very pleased with the service from Playforce.
